Warragul - Maralinga - Eucla - SA

This is a sprint to Nundroo where our trip will start. We followed the road to Colona to the shearing shed for the Oldea Ranges track. First mistake, followed hema tracking until the cok realised that Robin fro Maralinga sent us a map. The turnoff is 1.5k down the road which is now bitumen through to Iluka mineral sands mine. Turn off to Oleda Ranges about 62k then onto dirt/gravel road. Corrugated for the first 10k then road was in good condition to the Maralinga turn off which is a minor bitumen road from Nullabour Roadhouse. Robin and Billy are really working hard to get the new camp ground prepared. The Maralinga tour is an eye opener. We then picked up the Caravan Track 2.5k south of the Oldea turn off. This track from the east was hard to pick, and was in reasonably good condition to the rail siding of Cook - 158k and about 5hrs travel time. This track is not on Hema paper maps but is on digital. Beware at Nulla r/house as they have blocked off the old bitumen highway at r/house for the sight seeing plane when operating (whale season). We came in via inland track not the Cook Rd. Old Eyre highway was in really good condition heading west. We deviated from the old h/way for sight seeing prior to coming into Eucla from Nailwoodin area.
