A Step by Step Guide to creating new Places using your iPhone

Updating the ExplorOz Places system using your iPhone is extremely simple. (If creating a Place using another phone, the process is essentially the same however the specifics will be slightly different)

Step 1

Open the Camera App on your iPhone.

Step 2

Take a photo(s) of the place you wish to update/create.

Step 3

Open the Photos App and select ‘Camera Roll’. You should see the photos you have taken as thumbnails. Tap the Share icon at the top right of the screen (or bottom left depending on the OS you are using), then tap the photos you wish to add to the Places system. As you tap each image, it will become translucent and a red tick will be added to the image. Once you have selected your images, tap the ‘Share’ button at the bottom left of the screen and select email.

Step 4

After a few moments you will be presented with a new email message. You should also notice that the images you selected are attached.

In the TO field, enter Places@ExplorOz.com
The FROM field should contain the email address attached to your ExplorOz account.
In the SUBJECT field enter the name of the place in the Photo(s). Eg. Birdsville Hotel
In the body of the email, you are required to type a description of the place. This can be as brief or as detailed as you like.

Step 5

Click the Send button at the top right of your screen. This will send your description, along with your photos to ExplorOz. The ExplorOz Places system will then create a new Place on your behalf, which will contain your photos and description.

Its as easy as that!!
