 The New Spare

Submitted: Saturday, Jul 19, 2008 at 19:15
Picked up the new spare tyre from Widetread this afternoon. It was fitted in a flash and I had good advice about how to make a spacer to fit the wider tyre on the rear door carrier. Washers or nuts on the studs focus the weight of the tyre in small areas and may break the tyre carrier. A circle to spread the load made out of something that will absorb the shocks off-road is ideal A nylon cutting board will serve, and I'll cut it out with a jigsaw - a job for some time next week.
