Go to
Coalseam conservation park near Mingenew. Interesting failed coal mining history, and a wall of fossilised shells crumbling onto the river - makes you think about the number of times elements are recycled over the millenia.

Thanks Theo,
car is certainly turning into a drama - the problem is that the vacuum pump sprocket has a chip off the timing chain. No replacement part in Aust, has to be sent from Spain and may take 3 to 4 weeks (up to 7 according to mechanic) to get here. If Nissan agree that it is a warranty claim then they will also pay for a hire vehicle until we get it back but...as yet we dont know what their decision is. We are stuck in the van park now for months maybe, and not happy about it really. Will find out more hopefully today or tomorrow and probably post something about it on the
forum to find out whether anyone else has had a similar problem.
The blog from here may have to be censored frequently!!

Hi Heather,
There is nothing more annoying than car problems, particularly ones like you have. I hope Nissan come to the part (one expects that they should). I was wondering if you have a platinum
membership with your road service as this may also be a way of minimising the pain. On a positive note you will be the best person I know to advise me of the sights at
Greenough Caravan Park!
Kind regards
Theo

Hi Heather, sorry to hear of the vehicle misfortune.you stated about Nissan having to make their mind up about it being a warranty claim or not? That is internal mechanical breakdown componentry and should be warrantable, if they even sniff at it not being a warrantable item, I would take it much further, considering the inconvenience it has caused you. I hope it all works out for you both, cheers Laurie.

Well...we dont know for certain that it will be covered by warranty but I would think that because they are providing the hire car for us, it will be.
Thanks Laurie.

Hi Heather, Me again, our platinum RACQ (probably the same with NRMA) I am 95% sure allows me to transfer my insurance (with RACQ) to any vehicle I'm driving in a situation like yours. Not sure if that includes a hire vehicle though but maybe next time you're chatting with the NRMA maybe worth asking.
Kind regards
Theo

Hi Theo,
We only have Premium care
Membership and roadside assist with NRMA, car insurance is with another company. Thanks for the suggestion though. Hire vehicles seem to belong in a category all by themselves - I guess that is why they can charge like a wounded bull for it!
