About Me
We have a 2003 Land Rover Discovery and we tow a 2004
Tambo Cooper.
The Discovery is a TD5 Auto, with ARB bullbar, dual batteries and magnum winch. ARB Sidesteps, Safari
Snorkel and 4x4intelligence recovery points.
The addition of modified fuel mapping through an Autologic "chip", silicone intercooler hoses and an EGR bypass kit gives the little 2.5 diesel plenty of go. I also have an Enginesaver installed to monitor both the temperature of and low coolant.
So far the
suspension includes Les
Richmond springs in the front and Bilstein shocks and steering damper. I have also installed Les
Richmond 320lb rear springs for the current outback trip but will return to the airbag rear end when we get back.
For communication I use a GME TX3420 UHF and I have recently purchased a Codan 8528 and tapped antenna .
For
navigation I am currently using an Asus Eeepc 7" notebook with a
GPS mouse running Ozi Explorer. Also have a Magellan Meridian for when we get out on foot.
I guess you can tell I like my Land Rover ( no matter what unjustified flack it brings me...)
It and the
Tambo have been a fantastic way to get the family out bush.... I'm really looking forward to many more years of trips with both.
