can't wait to read the rest Alan, we are heading up to Ruddal River in a few weeks after the gathering so nice to read your stories and see your piccies in the lead up to the getaway. Watching the trip on EOTrackMe was really interesting - a great route, so have been keen to see your pics. Thanks for sharing! MM

Hi Michelle,
I didn't make it to Rudall this time however Mick and crew will no doubt update the conditions before you get there.
Out on the road I would do more updates however at $10 a megabyte the cost soon adds up.
Cheers

Thanks Sparra,
I was hoping to make it to Mount Bannerman this trip however looks doubtful now due to time taken for repairs in Headland.

Thanks Alan, I thoroughly enjoy reading of your travels.
I wondered and thought you may know the answer if The Fair Maid of Perth survived? I thought I read(may have been in Spinefex and Sand) that she was found some time after Gibson was lost.
Cheers,
Tony

Hi Tony,
Yes a small anecdote of Carnegies in the book says that he heard that the Fair Maid went on its own accord back to Coolgardie. I don't think that can be relied on. Assuming Gibson did find water and went further than the Bedford Range area it is still a journey of almost 900 kilometres - Hardly likely.
Cheers

G'day Alan,
Great read and it was almost like being back there.
The best bit was...
"Mick O bogged....Michael J to the rescue!!!" LOL LOL -could have been at
least two or three paragraphs on that alone:)))))))
Oh and btw "At one stage I got ahead of the pack far enough to stop and repair a puncture before anyone even noticed."
Well and truly noted now my friend..lol lol
Cheers

You two are SO sprung (pardon the pun). I'm sure the video evidence will reveal a sinister looking character loitering in the vicinity of my front hub! Now lets talk tyres shall we? Lets see now....we both had a two in the total number of punctures didn't we except mine was a single numeral and someone elses may have had another number after it I think. Hmmmm.
Good read Al. Makes me wish I was back out there.
Cheers Mick

Found out why the coil spring welding failed - after some serious research the instuctions are - DONT DO IT Amazing it lasted as long.
Your account has refreshed so many great events & memories, especially the triple Quad mission you sent us on while the rest "armchaired" it to GDEC blaze. Really felt the absolute desert vastness swallow us once we had lost site of you though.
Get onto Mick too , he has some "wheel" good action to report lol !!!!
Roll on the next adventure - Cheers John & Suzette

Alan Mc, great to relive our exploits with GDEC again. But your admission on hiding the additional flat tyre puts you ahead of me on the aggregate puncture score now, doesn't it? Woo Hooo!
