Well I made it back - there were a few hours after the event when I thought it was all over - I felt very sick in the stomach (think I may have taken in a bit of the river water during the swim). Anyway the good news is that Clyde and I won the Veterans 5 stage team event (not bad for only two guys doing the 5 stages).

For those that have not read the previous entry Team ExplorOz comprised of:
David (Me) - Road Bike 27km - which was actually 28 on my computer
Clyde - Canoe 12km
David - Swim 1km
Clyde - Mountain Bike 25km
David - Run 10km

Our times are as follows:

Road Bike

0:52:44 (12th place overall)

Canoe/Paddle

1:00:46 (8th place overall)

Swim

I do not think I have ever swum in water as cold as it was during the event and I felt very sorry for the few that choose not to wear a swimsuit. It was freezing!!!! 0:17:27 (24th place overall)

Mountain Bike

1:13:21 (20th place overall)

Run

1:00:24 (38th place overall)












Total event time 4:24:42 (12th place overall, 1st place Veterans team).

Our mates team 'Help Needed' completed the event in 5:23:08 (32nd Overall). We have a great weekend in Collie and are looking forward to hitting up the Blackwood Marathon in 2 weeks time.
