Thanks so much for all this info on food Michelle. We are planning a month long trip with our 4WD club next Easter from
Perth to
Alice Springs then doing the
Oodnadatta track before coming home. This info will be very helpful as I want to take as much as possible and just get fresh foodstuffs when we can along the way. I am really interested in the cryovac stuff you took. Do all butchers do this? and does it still need refrigeration? Also - what size
fridge did you have? Lol! Cheers, Trish.

Hi Trish - glad to be of help. We have a 40L
fridge and have always found it sufficient. You can read more about cryovac in our
Food & Water article in the
Cooking Topic - see http://www.exploroz.com/OntheRoad/Camping/FoodAndWater.aspx .

Clearly it's the person whose
cold supplies were of less importance than the
beer drinkers!
