Mick we were on the Cape Leveque road in August 2006 and agree it was a shocker!!

Hi Viv, yep a shocker all right. I was there last year (07) in June and they had completed an amazing amount of bitumen sealing. They were doing 20 km stretches at once.

Mick I hear you. Kerry cursed and swore the whole time on the drive in. The corrugations were deep enough to hide a Mini. Totally disgusting road. Best thing was though that it blew a gale the last night we were at CL and the drive out was like driving on silk. 80km/hr all the way. The wind had flattened out the track beautifully. Only time wind has worked in our favour. now if only the Kalumbaru Road had been flattened out the same!
One day we'll meet up again and have a long cold beer or three or even a stunning bottle of Shiraz.
