A rest day today. I swept through the car reorganising where I could. Then the roof top taj got a clean out and all the bedding and mattresses aired. Most of the group heading back along the lake sure to Mulan for a spot of shopping at the general store.

I gave my list to John and Suzette. While everything was airing in the breeze, I donned the pack and GPS and headed for a walk to the lakes edge some kilometres away. The lake edge has about 500 metres of brown weed filled shallows before the truly blue water starts. There were hundred of swans swimming in the weed filled waters off shore, hooting, ducking, and weaving necks in courtship rituals. The shore was littered with

Dotterels and overhead a pair of whistling kites patrolled the shore line looking for an easy feed. The mud was littered with hoof prints of wild horses and the pads of camels. Dingoes as well had made their way to the waters edge.

On returning from my stroll, the others had returned from town. I rearranged the bedroom and then assisted John in sorting out Willems Engel issues.

It required drilling a few more ventilation holes in his home made MDF storage system in the back of his Patrol. Michael and Peter also sorted out Willems malfunctioning UHF. It appears that the issue may have been dust/sand within the microphone connections. It seems to transmit now so job well done.

A lazy afternoon. Hopefully we’ll move on tomorrow as there is not a lot here and I’d hate to waste another day that could be spent at a better location along the Canning. A shower is in order tonight I feel.
