This trek note is still under construction. The trek note starts at Yarrawonga and ends at Mildura, following the Murray River on the Murray Valley Highway. Cobram East
Camping on the banks of the Murray; either north bank in NSW or south bank in Vic. The north bank is in a national park accessed from Barooga. We camped at Quick's Beach. No Facilities.
Strathmerton
Some of the best camping on the Murray can be found on the banks of the Murray between Cobram and Barmah. Numerous sandbars on a myriad of tracks with plentiful firewood but no loos.

Tyntynder South
Tyntyndyer Homestead, 16 km north of Swan Hill on the Murray Valley Highway, was the first brick veneer building in Australia. It is furnished in the style of the 1870s which was the squatter period.

Chambers Pillar is a natural sandstone formation used by our famous early explorers as a navigational point. You can still read their signatures and inscriptions carved into the rock. It is also a beautiful photographic subject in a remote 4WD area.

Chambers Pillar Historical Reserve
Chambers Pillar Historical Reserve lies 160km south of Alice Springs, along the Old South Road on a turnoff to the west of Maryvale Station. The road is unsealed and may be closed after rain.

In 2003 there were 220 people in the Billiluna Community. There are 4 commercial buildings; Garage, Centrelink Office, Store and Clinic. The garage opens 7am - 12noon and 1pm - 3pm, Monday to Friday.

The new township of Halls Creek is small but has a continuous flow of tourist trade to keep it busy. It is mostly an Aboriginal settlement. Halls Creek services a growing tourist trade in the area.
