Leisha TrackOpen NO Beach access from Rainbow Township to Double Island Point. Severe Erosion and Fallen Trees makes the western exit of the Leisha Track inaccessible most of the time. Mudlo Rocks Rainbow BeachCaution Passable at Low Tide but all plenty of time to return as there are short windows of opportunity to access the Leisha track at Double Island Point due to Fallen Trees and erosion. Vehicles are still getting drowend near the Leisha track as of Sept 2009

Eact Coast of Fraser is Closed Due To extreme Weather.
Visitors and tour operators are advised to expect poor beach conditions on the Eastern Beach of Fraser Island due to exposed rocks, including the areas listed below. All drivers are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution when traversing these areas. Drivers should drive to tide and beach conditions at all times and be aware of changing conditions due to weather and swells.

Road closed: Ngkala Rocks bypass impassable
Ngkala Rocks bypass has steep drop-offs due to recent high tides, making the road impassable. Do not use the Ngkala Rocks bypass.
North of Happy Valley - McLaughlan & Chard Rocks
McLaughlan Rocks and Chard rocks are exposed and may be difficult to traverse.
South of Happy Valley – Yidney Rocks are exposed
Rocks between the northern Yidney bypass track and Happy Valley are exposed and may be difficult to traverse. The alternative route from the Yidney Rocks bypass direct to Happy Valley can

Polyungan RocksCaution Traverse with Extreme Caution Coffee Rock Exposed by Cyclone Hamish and latest weather.
There is a detour available via inland road access points at Cornwells Break (northbound) and Poyungan Valley (southbound).
The EPA advises this detour is not suitable for heavy vehicles, only light vehicles and experienced four-wheel-drivers. This
detour takes approximately 2 hours one way with limited passing opportunities.

Scheduled roadworks are proposed on the Yidney Rocks bypass between 23 and 26 June 2009.
Heavy machinery will be used in the area – please exercise caution.
Visitors, residents and tour operators are advised that access will remain open, however please expect delays.
For your safety, please observe signs and obey directions from rangers.
