This book is the actual Journal (ie. diary) compiled in 1902 in detailing the day to day events of the Calvert Scientific Exploring Expedition which occured in 1896-7 (Canning Stock Route).
This expedition was conducted for the purpose of "exploring the remaining blanks of Australia" and was equipped at the request and expense of Alfred F. Calvert, Esq., F.R.G.S.k London.
