This book is the actual Journal (ie. diary) compiled in 1902 in detailing the day to day events of the Calvert Scientific Exploring Expedition which occured in 1896-7.
This expedition was conducted for the purpose of "exploring the remaining blanks of Australia" and was equipped at the request and expense of Alfred F. Calvert, Esq., F.R.G.S.k London.
