Plenty big enough for a sensible user...just ask the people that do it. Re the price.....keep in mind the age of the thing....they are great and some go forever but a new compressor unit is $6-700 plus labour. How about you buy new IF you are going to use it for many years ?The car, the boat, the camper, the radios - is that all there is to life ?

If the Engel is a newbie it is a darn good price.......Engels go forever...I have 2...an 18yo one still going strong and 2yo one also working beautifully. Waeco..hmmm reminds me of that incident in the USA where all those people got burnt......Engel is quality Waeco is unproven......just me thoughts.

Go Engel
Draws very little power, quiet and very reliable, and if it is new or almost new that is a good price.

Check out the fridge shop www.fridgeshop.com.au. Waeco 70l for $749 and 90l for $949 - lot more fridge for your money. We have had a Waeco for nearly 3 years and it goes like a beauty - good luck.

Have a Waeco 40ltr with 15000kms on it. Could not be happier. Father has Waeco 50ltr which has been to Weipa FNQ from Cairns on the "Developmental Road" (it's still under development!) in the back of his 75 series 'cruiser and survived a pounding. He could not be happier and has had his 3 yrs.

80 ltrs holds alot of stuff. I know what I would choose!Playdoe GXL TD Manual
It's on order, Delivery in April '04.
This pic will have to do till then. Can't wait!!!

At that price, you'd want the engel to be a current model F-series - they have the less power hungry compressor. I've had a B-series and an F-series and the later one uses a lot less power.

I sold my 39lt Engel privately several months ago for $600 with transit bag and sprung base. It was 7 years old and I bought a new 40lt ARB. Only reason I did that was because a mate's 10 y/o Engel did a compressor and was going to cost more to fix. Another mate has a 110lt Waeco and it goes great. I'm kicking myself now for spending $1100- on a new 40 ltr when I could have had a Waeco 80lt for a few $$$ more.
Having said that, the ARB does a great job and fits a lot of stuff in. We are a family of 5 but also have a 3 way fridge in the Ultimate Camper, so I guess it's horses for courses, eh?
Sorry, you wanted it kept short, but once I start, there's no shutting me up!!
Cheers,
Roachie
