I am in the market for a 12 volt TV and DVD .Can any one help with a good quality 14 inch TV and aerial with booster.I am fairly deaf and need teletext with the TV

normal tv and a small inverter would be a cheaper option , you only 150 watt inverter but I would bet atleast a 300 watt. Then the inverter can be used for other purposes . If you are ded keen on a 12 volt tv , there at most Dick smith store and autobarn, some even come with video all in one Venus Bay

I bought a 240v / 12v 34cm colour TV with integrated Video unit from Dick Smith for $398 over christmas and it works great.

Not sure whether an integrated TV and DVD is the way to go. Common components means that if the TV breaks down so does the DVD, and vice versa. I would recommend separates. Not sure whether any of the 12V TVs can receive teletext.

Certainly a 300W inverter and 240V television and DVD is a good option ... and cheaper too. Twelve-volt TVs do tend to be expensive. Though having said that, we bought a 12V Orion 14in (34cm) TV from our local Retravision store for $370 last year. Not a bad little unit, but it can't handle teletext.

As far as aerials and boosters are concered, I suggest you nip into a local Dick Smiths or Tandy store ... they have a great range. Just steer clear of caravan accessory shops because they charge the earth. And all those miracle antennas you see advertised in 4WD and caravan magazines certainly can't match a 'proper' antenna from DS or Tandy.
