80# cut down

Kiwi Ray

Hi Folks
An update to posting 10182
I intend to use as much of the existing panel work as I can.
The top half of the rear tail gate is to be used as the rear of the cab and make up a panel for the lower half.
The tray or tabletop as you call it is to be fitted at the height of the door handles.
The idea was to cut about half way through the rear doors.
I am open to any suggestions
To the best of my knowledge this has not been done in New Zealand, although I have seem a number in Aussie when I am there.
Ray

Ray, I believe the body at the rear of the cruiser is narrower than in the middle so the body parts will not match without a bit of 'delicate surgery'. You may want to measure before you cut & possibly consider selling off the good panels as parts and using the money for a good panel beater to do the 'surgery' for you.
A lot of 80's have been done before but worth checking as one of the comments I have heard was "I wished I hadn't tried to use the rear pillar section" Cheers
