Damaged Alloy Bar

Jason (macca)

Gidday all,

I am after some tips on how to fix a few scratches on my alloy bull bar. My wife dragged the bull bar along the fence whilst backing out of the pre-school car park. She was attempting to swing out of the car park and has just caught the right hand side corner of the bar. The fence was a timber fence but the fence nails have left 4 x 10cm long scratch's in the bar. The scratch's are about 3mm wide and maybe 1 or 2mm deep.

What chances do I have of getting them out. How should I attempt to remove them. Whats the best way to polish the bar once I have removed the scratch's.

Cheers
Jason

Autosol will polish bar to a mirror finish ................... except for the scratches that is lol. You can get it from auto shops like Supercheap, Repco etc

The scratches .................. they may have to be permanent reminders.

Go back to the pre-school and scratch the other side as well......then it will look if it was part of the manufacturing process :-)))

If you go the sandpaper method, try a very fine wet n dry paper with kerosene, then finish off with autosol. Might pay to practice in a discreet spot first.
