Hi Guys,
I have to replace the
caravan batteries, currently using Fullriver DC.
Is there any other brands worth looking at ie. Century

If you want a fast charging battery – go for a Lifeline.
I have one and charge it at 100 amps, whereas my old Fullriver only had a max charge rate of 20 amps.

If your current battery has given you a good run then why not stick to the same brand?
I have a 4 yr old fullriver agm and it still goes
well. If I get another 2 yrs I will be happy.

We purchased our Fullrivers late in 2008. They are still performing
well.

FWIW I know a couple of guys that have the Fullriver brand and seem to be ok so far.
I have 2x 100 AH DC AGM Federal batteries going on 5 years old that get charged from the on board 30 amp Smartcharger which so far (touch wood lol) are all good.
They certainly weren't the cheapest around but most times I have found you get what you pay for.

I have 3 x AGM DC's in the van - first set were Ritar (supplied by van maker) - now using Century. You, me and most of the rest of humanity will never know if we have chosen a good or an ordinary battery. I simply intend to stay with the mainstream brands and most of all...... look after them ! Fully charged for as much of their life as possible - never discharged beyond the safe limits.

The 2 X 120 amp/hr Fullriver AGM batteries in my van are only fairly new but when it comes time to replace them I will replace them with Lithium LiFePo4 batteries.
Still pretty new technology in regards to vans but you can get a battery half the size and weight or get one equal to what you have now with twice the power amp/hrs capacity.
Prices are slowly falling but they will be the way of future in my opinion.

I have a 200ah LiFePO4 battery. It consists of four 200ah x 3.5v Winston cells. With stainless side strapping and cell connectors plus bolts it weighs 42Kg and is capable of producing 180ah of usable current at no less than 12v. Just unimaginable after having AGM previously. Not cheap and not proven how long it will last but the consensus is up to 20 years. These are the same brand cells used in Prius and others but conditioned differently. The Prius is getting up around 10 years or so now. Cheers,Bob.

While Grant does not say how many batteries he has, we have four and when these need replacing, I expect it to be cost effective and a significant weight reduction to go to Lithium.
