Eva kool problem

Greetings all, I went to use my ED40 yesterday which is little more than a year old and the thing no go! The comp. cuts in for about 5 seconds and then cuts out, but the fan is still running. Any ideas as to the problem? Please, no should've bought a Waeco/engel or whatever...

Ferret.
Symptoms would appear to eliminate most of the electrics. I think from memory the fan is wired from the compressor.
If you have the 240vac/24vdc adaptor try that. If problem persists, check wiring in comp terminal box.

RegardsIs it tinea or has it just been too long since the last trip?

There's lots of reasons why it is only running for 10 secs but out of gas aint one.

My RF47 did something similar (run for 10 seconds or so and then turn off) and I found, when I had the electrical system checked, that I had a battery/alternator problem.
I fixed that up and now I runs like it should.
If it runs on the 240V power pack or even on a reasonable battery charger it should run on you vehicles system.
Maybe check your battery terminals and all fittings and connections.
And BTW you should have bought an Evakool! LOL

Darling that is because the wiring is to light dear or you are using a smokey smelly stinky plug dear. Darling the good man at the auto electrician fixed me right up with proper plugs and heavy wiring. Darling hopefully he can fix up hubby to dear or else I may need the handsome gorgeous auto electrician man to wire me right up.

10.4/10.6v Probably 2 fifths of bugger all anyway . . . I think theres a bigger underlying problem.

Ferret, Whilst it sounds as if your battery is a bit dodgy, it may not be. If you have a multimetre check what the voltage is when the fridge attempts to start by pulling out the plug just enough to touch the multimetre ends with. + to + and - to - of course! This is the only way that you can see what the start attempt is drawing. If your battery is OK and so are the leads/plugs, it may be the electronic controller as I had the same thing happen to a Danfoss equiped fridge. Replaced the electronic box and it worked fine. What is the warranty on the Evakool's?.
