Our 2011 Troopie is 10mths out of new car warranty. The alternator has been playing up for the past week.
I took it to Toyota today for an inspection. Toyota agree that it's not good & are going to cover the full cost of replacement under warranty.

I took it to Toyota at 7am today.
At 9.30am I was advised of the decision.
The vehicle has been booked in for the job to be done at 6pm tonight.

I'll be driving it home by 8pm.

Can't ask for much more than that........

Good to hear a positive story being reported about a dealer, you normally only hear the negatives.

Good to hear.

You still have rights post-warranty by the way.

That is great but it does not surprise me. I have submitted out of warranty claims for customers as well as arranged for reps. to call and inspect vehicles with the owner and the results have a lot more often than not been the same.

That was back in the 1980s so it is good to see it is still happening as it should be.

There is also another kind of warranty independent of the manufacturer that comes up on talk back radio occasionally. It is based on the expected life of a product and is not confined to car parts. The last time I heard it was about two weeks ago and it involved a four year old TV set that had burnt out.

A department like the Dept of Fair Trading would either deal with it or could advise who could.

That is good to hear, it's not often one gets good feedback about a manufacturer.
You should leave a good review on ProductReview.com.au.
People need to read genuine feedback about owners experience with products.

Great stuff Lou and as said pleasing to hear a good story re a dealer.

On that note I have to mention a no 4wd related story but exceptional (in my view) service as well. In 2010 i bought a 2005 Falcon for my newly licensed son. The car was great, 100K km and nice blue duco. Within months of owning, small stone chips became flakes with the paint simply falling off the car in 20 cent piece sizes in random areas. To me it was fairly obvious that the colour coat had not adhered to the primer coat and a bit of online research revealed it was a factory issue with that colour alone and within specific months of manufacture. The car was clearly out of warranty yet Ford Oz were so proactive it wasn't funny and had the car bare metal re sprayed (locally, offered a choice of 3 shops) at a cost of some 9K (paint was 2K odd)...the car wasn't worth that much and nor did we pay that much but strike me lucky that is about the only win I have had. Great service.

I'm a big believer of providing both good & bad reports on experiences with businesses.

A good report gives others the confidence to deal with that business & also promotes a business that is treating customers well.

Poor experience reports give others a warning to be careful when dealing with that particular business.
All business experience reports MUST be factual, or you expose yourself to legal issues.
Your comments must be true, correct & able to be verified.

I posted a poor report about a business on a different forum a few yrs back. I was ridiculed by forum members for "bagging' the business. I also received a ph call from the business accusing me of lying & threatening legal action if I didn't remove the post.
My response to the business was, "Go ahead, if I'm lying take me to court"
I never heard another thing from the business & the report is still public on that forum.
