CD Players - #2

Rosco - Bris.

OK Happy Chappies

Further to my recent posting, I now have the unit in place ... Clarion MP3 player with a pair of Alpine speakers in the rear. The radio ppl suggested the OE speakers up front were adequate so have left them for the time being. Will replace if necessary.

Very happy with the unit and sound quality, all at moderate cost for a moderate setup. Now to my question for all the elect buffs out there. It's 4x50 W max power. At normal usage levels is power draw an issue that needs to be considered. I realise radio probably wouldn't draw much (i think?), but what about CD's or MP3 disks. My rough as guts sums tell me we may be drawing 5+ amps ???? If so this needs to be kept in mind out the back of beyond.

True or false ???

Cheers

Rosco,

would you mind telling us te all up cost? The factory tape player in my Defender has started playing up and I am definitely over tapes! Not sure whether it's worth getting them to fix it under warranty. (Defenders now come with CD player so maybe they will replace the tape player with one if I'm lucky).

I believe the wiring is already in place for the rear speakers. Is that true?

Not sure about the wiring old mate.

If Fenders come with a CD player it's only happened since last July.

All up cost $600 incl GST for unit and installation including rear speakers + enclosures ... they did a damn fine job there also.

Cheers

Rosco...

You dont regret the MP3 player thing dude.

I have 3000 MP3s Ive downloaded using kazaa-lite now :) I have 12 CDs with 170+ songs on each, and its MAGIC..

Mate has 28,900 on his network, create your own CDs with the songs you like. Loads better..

Rosco's greatest Hits Vol 1..

Create a few CD's for each mood, like when your bogged, lost or the old landy just dies and need some agro, get some good Bums and Noses or Sex Pistols happening!! LOL

enjoy it.

Thanks Digger

What's the trick and where do you download songs.

I've been copying my own CD's to MP3 format and suffice to say ..... I now have an extra reason to drink, as if I needed one LOL.

Drives you bloody insane ... goes through the entire CD and 2-3 minutes from the end the system hangs, or decides to go on hols in some other form.

Cheers

Off either Kazaa-lite, a file sharing program. or www.download.com and search for filesharing programs, and see which ones are downloaded the most and use that one, as thats the one with most people sharing!!

http://www.packetnews.com (you need mirc installed as well, which is free) you can download full albums off there.

Truckster. I've never seen Slim Dusty alongside the Sex Pistols in any other music compilation. The Pub with no f**kin' beer would be a classic song. : )

Rosco if you are refering to the 4*50w thats the sound output to speakers not power consumption
