Stretcher

Joe

Hi,

I need a better setup in our 2x2m Oztent when touring fire trails.
My wife and I currently both sleep on the floor on single self inflating air matresses with an !8" space up the middle of the tent for access and gear.
The situation probably would improve greatly if my wife was up on a stretcher with about 12 inches of space below the stretcher...and then we stow gear below.
This should make getting ready for bed and getting up a lot easier.
Any recommendations on stretchers that are EASY and Quick to set up and down, compact, good quality and light.
I guess the existing self inflating air matress will be fine on the stretcher and make for added comfort.
Looking forward to the usual great feed back.
Regards
Joe

Check out the Alluminium frames ones at KMart, about $79 if not on sale.

Friends have them and we are about to invest.

Heya
Watch out in the cold climes though - on a stretcher you have the cold air all round you. One of the coldest nights I have ever tried to sleep through was made much worse by being on a stretcher. A cheap foam camp mattress on the stretcher can make a big difference. Of course this is dependant on the sleeping bags you have.

Hi Joe
I just brought 2 double bunk type stretchers from Kamping world and they come with extra brackets to make them into single bunks. Take about 5mins to set up they are comfortable and they pack up in to a over nite size bag which is supplied with them. I payed $110 bucks for each, they are kookaburra brand made in CHINA(ha ha)
