WikiCamps have released an app called
'Fuel Map'
Similar to WikiCamps it relied on travellers to update it.
Fuel prices in WA are sourced from that states
Fuel Watch. This app would be helpful in planning a trip and could be used in addition to or instead of asking for
fuel prices on forums.

If people got behind Petrol Spy (it's on my iPhone, not sure about Android), it would be an awesome addition to the planning arsenal.
It occasionally gets recent updates, but just not quite enough yet to be reliable for planning all the time.
I try and remember to do it when I fill up, but takes time to get into the habit, especially when out of mobile range for a few days / week.

Anyway, I just downloaded the Aust version (
Fuel Map Australia) so will see how it goes . . . with the Wiki Camps users out there it might get more momentum faster.
There is another app called
Fuel Map WA (an app by Doug Tubb, not Wiki Camps), which is only WA using the info from the OP.
Hmmm, first viewing not good as you need to zoom in too far for stations to see what's out there in any decent range, very much further zoomed in that of the Petrol Spy app
map.

G'day Les Thanks for the heads up on Petrol Spy. I now have it on my Android phone.
Both apps don't have some of the more remote locations available on their maps, such as
Tobermorey and Punmu.
It would be good if travellers get behind these apps and keep them fairly up to date.

Yes, the stations must be sourced from a database I suppose . . .
Birdsville only sows the
Adelaide St servo, not the main roadhouse (it is shown on the
map, just no
fuel icon), no Mt Dare, but that's more understandable.
It's a pity they don't allow these sorts of
places to be added when found, station supplies, as
well as other servos not on the list.
If the Wiki camps app people fix the lousy zoomed out detail problem on ther
fuel app, it will most likely be the better one if they can get wiki camps users onto it, get more info on there and more regularly.
