Toyota Prado Stereo

Submitted: Tuesday, May 04, 2004 at 15:45

Tim

Hi guys, just in the process of trading in the Jack for a 01 prado RV. I am considering keeping the good stereo I have put in the jack and slotting it in the new prado however when test driving the prado I remeber looking at the stereo and thinking it was an odd size.
Can someone measure the length and height of the am/fm tape deck in the prados and let me know PLS.
Thanks
Tim

If it's anything like the GU's it'll be a double DIN size. No worries, just gives you a good place to put the UHF! ;-)
Double check with others, but I would imagine that's what it is.
You can get DIN surrounds from prestige communications to suit most GME radios. Will make for a nice neat finish.

Tim,

Its a standard DIN size with a DIN sized pocket below. On the RV I had, I fitted a DIN sized radio/CD with a Uniden UH088 UHF radio underneath. You'll need to mess a bit with the OE brackets for a perfect fit.

Tim,
you can also leave the pocket in there and mount the new stereo above it.
