Wave Rock,
Hyden WA would have to be the cleanest, best run park (by owners Laurel & Merv) we have ever stayed in. Sites are big and most times can be drive through if required. Amenities are the cleanest you will find anywhere in the country. Should you visit there spend $3 each to see Mervs museum dating from 1860 through to 1960 and includes working gramophones from that period and a collection of 78 records numbering around 5,600. He will even let you pick a couple out and play them for you. Do yourself a favour and stay nowhere else if in the area. Country hospitality by country people who know what a caravanner wants because they have been caravanners.

Caravan Park at Karlgarin twenty kilometres from
Wave Rock, NOT the
Wave Rock Caravan Park at
the rock.

We didn't need a breeze when we stayed at
Wave Rock Legendts - we got a stiff frost. But that was in June twelve years ago, and the
Wave Rock CP back then was nothing to write about.
Also Karlgarin is the start of the popular
Tin Horse Highway.

Yes we did that too. Some very clever people out Kulin way and Kulin has a 72hr free park that requests people leave their purchase dockets from the town. We really enjoyed the area.

Our WA wheatbelt towns certainly enjoy visitors and most cater
well for them. Times are tough out there.

This is our second trip over in the past twelve months as my wife loves photographing the
wildflowers. We always aim for the smaller towns and spend what we can in them. So many
places this year we only intended to spend a couple of nights and most of them we spent five or more. There is so much to see if only people would get out of their cars or open their eyes. What a great, diverse state WA is.
