We have the Ibis and it will run on the 2kva Honda jenny
All a/c's will struggle in temps above 30.deg
If you can't use your a/c when you want to..I can recommend you get a fan/ fans to at least keep the air circulating...Sirocco are good and quiet. 12 volt too.

Re your specific technical queries......contact Aircommand (an Aussie company - there are a few left supplying the RV industry :-) and ask them to send the technical specs that you require. Yours are good queries, in that there are limits to the outside ambient hot and cold range, outside of which the unit will not operate (a fire safety factor)...in extreme cold and extreme heat, the AC is unlikely to be of any use. As for the Honda 2k.....in the past Aircommand have been happy to acknowledge in writing that this gennie will run their Ibis ok.
I have a 2009 Ibis (probably a 1) and it has been great overall, but I would not expect to sleep with it running.....the actual AC run is not too bad, but the clutch that cycles the compressor in and out from time to time produces a big 'clunk', which is amplified greatly by the van's roof. The Ibis3 is supposed to be quieter, but still may be impractical for sleep .....(I only ever run mine from mains power - our gennie is a 1K).

We have a Truma Aventa in our Jayco Journey & find it a little noisy but as its our first van unable to compare. They do not work well as a heater in cold conditions. We found out the hard way on our first trip. You will need other heating if you wish say in very cold tempatures. When all else failed we read the manual & it states heating not possible below 4`C & not efficient between 4 & 7 degrees.

Hi June, we replaced our Dometic A/C with an Ibis 3. Our van internally is 21'6". We could NEVER sleep with the Dometic on and outside it was noisy also. The Ibis is bliss, very little noise inside apart from the obvious fan noise which is minimal. Outside you struggle to hear it. It does "thump" a little cutting in/out but we are very happy with it. We also use a scirocco fan as well and can recommend them too. Re the generator, contact Air command to confirm as has already been suggested although a friend of ours has a Honda 2kVa and providing he turns everything off that is drawing any power whilst he starts it it does run the A/C.

Our reason for buying the Ibis was Australian manufacturer and a very helpful group.
