I have a three stage Rotronics
Battery Management system in my 2004 79 series LC.
I understand that these are no longer manufactured nor are they repairable.
Before I replace this system with say a Redarc I wonder if any of our knowledgeable EO
members know of anyone in
Sydney or surrounds who knows anything about Rotronics gear.
I am told by a former supplier of Rotronics in Qld that they seldom fail but the problem could lie elsewhere & the fail safe system built in could prevent the system working if it detects a fault elsewhere
Of the Auto Electricians I have spoken to most have never heard of Rotronics & lean towards
replacement
I have so much gear running off my batteries that a major rewire would cost several Thou.
Will bight the bullet if necessary but hope to avoid it if I can find somebody who can diagnose the problem

As far as I'm aware Rod closed the business due to ill health, he might still repair the unit if he is hopefully still around, I've emailed the last contact number I had for him.
I you can't reach him let me know the issue and I might be able to help.

If the Rotronics is proved to be no good, a rewire might cost you $100 or less.
If you get to that stage, post up what you have in your system and I'm sure we could get you recharging your system for a lot less dollars than you think.

Before you thow the baby out with the bath water..... it would be wise to
test or have the unit tested.
This may mean getting it out of the vehicle and mocking it up in a system with other known good parts.
If you have a failed
battery or alternator or even some dodgy connection, it may be appearing faulty when it is not.
cheers
