is that a factory turbo? if not then perhaps it was not the correct turbo that should have been installed in the first place? Grandfather also has a 60, he put a safari (i think) turbo onto it about a year ago and has no probs with it. and under bonnet temps have not changed at all.

Have you considered a Davies Craig Electric Water Pump?
I don't actually have one (yet) but my research indicates they are pretty good. That still doesn't get away from your intial problem though but I can't help you there sorry.

I have a 1983 Turbo Diesel Cruiser,it is fitted with a after market AIT water cooled turbo, which I believe is a Garret TO3. I have the same problem if I push it over 100 k,but the temp gauge will only rise to 3/4 in the white area whereapon the viscous fan will cut in and drag it back down to 1/4,but it goes back up and repeats the process.On steep drawn out hills it will climb nearly into the red. I have never boiled even on the hottest day with the air on,nor lost any significant amount of water,but it is a worry as to the long time longlivity of the engine.I might add that I have a oil cooler fitted. I believe it is a common problem with the 2H motor. More HP more heat. Hope this helps. ( I live in QLD).

Geoff i have a hj75 cruiser 89mod 2h fitted with a schwitzer 3ld turbo
been on there from 140000km's now has 190000 and i have had no probs sits on 120kph on the highway, temp nedle doesn't move from the normal running tempture the hotest iv'e had was just over halfway floging it through some pritty soft sand, i have heard that the 2h's are prone to getting hot when turbocharged but i have had no probs i live
central qld where the normal temp is around 30*c

it's $$$$$$$$$$ but probly putting an intercooler on would help in cooling the charge temp, plus some added pony's

Geoff do you have any idea of how much boost its running, I recently sold my HJ75 which had a Schwitzer turbo.
