Steve, Mobil will be staying at the current level of 500 ppm for a while, they have sort and recieved an exemption from the legislation reducing sulphur in diesel fuel. Yes, the change to low suphur diesel will affect older diesel engines. The low sulphur diesel will react with the seals in older diesels. I think that when introduced in Qld, BP compensated those with older diesels on production of receipts etc. Don't hold me to that though. Some
forum users from Qld may be able to expand on that. From memory, diesels made after 96 SHOULD be OK. Hope this helps.
