Troopy - Hesitation at 2000rpm

My son-in-law has a Troopy (petrol 1988 vintage) which has developed a hesitation at 2000rpm. It's not a miss, it lasts a bit longer than that (about a second). New plugs, new leads, new condenser, still no difference. Below 2000rpm, no problem .... above 2000 rpm, no problem. Any ideas?

I had one the same,it was a cracked diaghram that lets the fuel flow in at the inlet pipe inside the carby.it was so expensive to replace i changed to a 350 holley,bolted straight on,modified pipes and perfect.Saved heaps on fuel economy after that also cheers.
