All these
places have or could have meat etc but do not rely on it. As Ruth said they only get the supply truck once a fortnight and if you are there the day before it arrives then you may miss out. When we were there last month I think Ruth said there were 300 people in the CP that night. Now if they all restocked I think there would be little chance. As it was the stocks in the freezer were getting low.
I think it is very important to support the businesses in these more remote locations for things like food and petrol but it would pay to phone ahead. The night we were there the bigger servo ran out of diesel as the truck was behind schedule.
As I said it is important to support these people even though it is probably a higher price than we would normally pay because without theses people we would be in trouble.
I cracked up when I heard people driving $60K plus vehicles complaining that at $1.45 per litre it was going to cost $50. Imagine the cost of setting up a fuel drop or taking all your fuel with you if there were no servo's or shops.
