gq maverick brake setup after suspension lift

After l lifting my wagon some time ago by about 2.5 inches have noticed
extra brake dust around rear rims.

On closer inspection, and testing on a wet road(when safe to do so not at great speed) rear wheels locked up very easily. Come to the conclusion brake proportioning valve not working correctly.

Has anybody come across the same problem and any advice on fixing it.

Possibly using a bracket to bring back the relationship between valve and spring piviot point

i think there is a adjustment bolt on the brake valve . just not a 100% sure which way to adjust it. mine was lifted 2 inches and i jusy adjusted that to make the brakes work better.gregery's manual tells you how.(cant find mine still packed up). hope this helps.

in theory the brake proportiong valve will give more rear brake when theres a load so lifting the rear will back of the valve.

When we did the 6in lift on my GQ, we raised the bracket on the brake proportiong valve the same amount.

Apparently its a 'rule' you should follow. Although Ive seen and fitted a few 3in kits and never bothered, and never had a complaint.

Lifting the suspension should actually cause less breaking at the rear wheels.
Sounds like something else is causing the problem, maybe the handbrake is partially on, due to extra strain on cable due to lift ?

After reading again, I see it is a GQ you have, then it most likely has tail shaft brake so lift would not affect the hand brake.

Thanks to all who inputed some advice.

I actually found that on closer inspection of the load sensing valve and bracket,
there is actually enough adjustment in one of the mounting holes in the bracket which I have adjusted to get the correct braking proportioning front to rear.

My only concern now is for others who have had any lift done, and might find
braking fine until they need to do a panic stop and find that there back locks
up prematurely.
