Hi paul Firstly your winch should be connected to your main battery and the motor kept operating during winching. As for the dual battery - i have just fitted a new fangled set up to my 80 series using the Odyssey Extreme battery system Basically, i fitted 2 of the same type of battery. Each battery is BOTH a cold cranking CCA and a deep cycle in one unit. They can accept full charge and can be recharged in about 40 minutes as opposed to a day for a normal deep cycle batteryŒI dont know of anyoine else who has had any experience with them but i am willing to give it a go. each battery is around the $400 mark making them very expensive. However, i cant afford to have problems with my electrical system as i run tag along tours. If they are only 1/2as good as the advertising guff, then i will be very happy.
