For that money I'd be looking for a 3.2lt DID. The 2.8 is a bit underpowered for a vehicle that size but the 3.2 is a beauty.
Apart from that the Pajero is a great vehicle. Will take you anywhere you want to go in great comfort. Excellent on road handling and very good off road ability.

Price is a bit rich though IMO.

Thats the year the 3.2 came in (Nov I think).

Redbook has them listed at betwwen 33 - 38 (take it for what thats worth) , and the NP 3.2 GLS at 35 - 40

I don't think I would want to be paying any more then say $30 for the older 2.8.

HI we had a 96 model for two years with 40k on it it was a great on diesel 10L/100K but a very unfriendly g/box and no LSD also when we came to sell it was very hard to move lucky someone saw it in the t/post interstate and bought it I would spend a little more and get the new Tdi
