I have had a set of Kelly AWRs on my 89 Hilux for 3.5 years now and done
56,000 km. Theres still at least 5,000 on them. They started to get noisy at
about 40,000, but that was fixed with rotation - probably would be getting
more out of them if I had done it sooner. Most of my off road work is in sand
(beaches and sandy deserts (eg Murray sunset,
border track,
Coffin bay) andŒthey have performed well. The car had (I think) the Safari HPRs on it when IŒbought it, and they fell apart on a Centre and back via
Old Andado trip.
(bulges on the tread surface of all but one) The local Kelly dealer looked
after me pretty well and did a good deal on the AWRs, explaining that the
ones fitted were not really suited for serious off road - more for Light
truck on road work. The AWRs have shown no signs of this problem.Bottom
line? Will probably get another set when these wear out.
