Driving along behind what I thought was troopy today... Thought to myself, gee that looks small for a troopy... Overtook it and it was about 2 thirds the size of a troopy(about the size of a jackaroo), had 4 doors and was badged as a Prado??? What the?

I figured it may be. Was a perfect miniature of a troopy, tail lights, panel mouldings, bonnet even the little black plastic vents at the back corners.
Wonder how they go offroad?

Early imported Prado....
Check out this web page by Col crowther, he has an early Prado nick-named Baby-Troupe. The Prado I believe has Bunderra running gear. There was a real market for the Prado for the importers till Toyota realised how well they sold here and started bringing them in themselves.

"No way are they related to the bundera.".....??

OK, here's a quote from the man that owns one.....

Make - Toyota

Model - 70 Series Prado

Year - 1991

Status - This is a grey import which after doing plenty of research has Bundera suspension & diffs, Surf engine & transmission & a stretched Bunderra body. Chassis is same size as other 70 series, so bullbar & tow bar are from Troop Carrier.

I rest my case your honour.....

:-)

As far as butt ugly goes, aren't ALL troopys ugly??? Practical as all hell, for sure!! But missing big time on the pretty department!!!
