Hi Ray looks like not much water there at the moment, maybe letting water level down as there is lots of water coming down the Darling at present, although it seems to travel slow.

Some interesting stats
Bourke - Peak near 9.4 metres around 11/1/05 with Minor Flooding
Wilcannia - Peak below Minor Flood level [9.0] metres around 4/2/05

river heights on Sun 02/01/2005 were:
DARLING R AT BOURKE 7.51m rising at 734am Sun 02/01/05

DARLING R AT WILCANNIA 1.88m rising at 738am Sun 02/01/05

A couple of interesting links below.

Hi Bernie, thanks for that. Lets hope the water coming down does some good. It will take a lot to make an impression, don't those lakes hold more water than Sydney Harbour.

Ray, 30 years ago we toured at Broken Hill & visited the lakes, so the memory is rusty but I think about 7 times the capacity of the harbour.

We were up there last May & Lake Menindee didn't contain an eyedropper of water, but there was a trickle coming into the other lakes. You could walk across the darling in places.Certainly go for a look ,makes you realise what a mess is being made of our country by people being allowed to take all the water. We were told that one station alone had the capacity of Lake menindee stored for its cotton production.
