haddon corner rd

has anyone recently travelled on the alternative route from Inamincka to
Birdsville via Haddon corner. I am hoping to go this way in a few weeks prior to an east west crossing of the simpson & I can't find any info about this road. any help on road conditions & good camping spots would be appreciated

g'day Graham, been back for a week now seems like i never went.
reply to your queston about the haddon cnr rd. it was a great trip & pretty easy going. the turn off for haddon corner is clearly marked & the whole trip took us only 1 day from innamincka to birdsville via the dig tree & arabury. the road varies from rough gibbers to sandy. i would highly recommend this route as analternative to the cordillo rd if you have already been that way. all the best & safe travelling.

We travelled the road from Innamincka to Haddon Corner in the middle of August and was very impressed with the condition. We camped just before the turnoff to Birdsvile (near Developmental Road) near a dry creek bed - very pleasant.

Hi Paul, just got back from this trip
the road is rough and finding a camping spot is difficult due to the massive amount of gibber
but the view and change in terrain makes it all worth while
we camped on the top of a dry dam, the only rock free spot we could find after coming out from Haddons
the only time in my travells I wish we had a trailer!
got to reccommend the East - West trip over the Simpson too
there are not so many turkey nest from people who do not know what 'decrease your tyre pressure' means
