'New' Landcruiser model release date.

Submitted: Thursday, Oct 03, 2002 at 00:00

Chris

I've ordered a new model 100 series GXL Landcruiser. I was told that it was being released in October but the dealer hasn't got back to me on when exactly it will be available. He's having trouble finding out himself. Does anyone know anything about the release date. Nothing is mentioned about it on the Toyota site either.

Thanks.

I don't mean the new 'new' model, with the new shape and sharp lines. The new one I'm talking about is just a cosmetic change to the taillights, a few more colours (gold & cerice), different interia colours (ivory & stone) and a V8 for the petrol version. It's still the same shape, but just with a 'facelift'.

Chris,
I ordered my facelifted TD 100 series mid August. I have a printout from my dealer (includes engine and vin numbers) indicating the ship is docking in Perth on the 7th October and given I live in the Pilbara am expecting delivery on the 25th of October. The official lifting of the info embargo is the 11th October so don't expect anything from Toyota until then. Read the two page spread in the latest Overlander mag for more info and two pictures or visit www.toyota.com for the already released new petrol model in the states. This site has some more pics but of course no info on the diesel. If you email me I have a copy of a 13 page document "Advanced product information" on the facelifted 100 I can send you. Regards Jayson

Chris,

I ordered mine at the end of August. But due to the factory lockers opton delievery is currently scheduled for mid November. The best info is in overlander, that I have found. When questioining the dealer on the airbag issue they confirmed all models will have airbas as standard and they are no longer deletable options.
