I have had 2 of the Repco 12 volt rattle guns that busted - last one I took back under warranty and the store manager immediately suggested that I take my money back as they have had "a bad batch" and all of the ones he sold have come back busted. They were $69 - so if Supacheap are selling them even cheaper I don't like the chances that it would last.

I now have a Shentai 12 volt rattle gun and have used it extensively without a problem. A bit more expensive at $99 from ARB or from Marks 4WD Adaptors - however for me I would rather pay $99 over $69 and be sure of getting a decent tool.

I like it, takes the hassel out of rotating 8 wheels (including the trailer) - would recommend the Shentai Brand but not the Repco.

Yep Peter the gun from Marks adapters is the one you should get they are $79 now so good value, i have a Landy so i had to go out and get an extra socket 27mm as the wheel nuts on the Disco are this size i was a bit worried that the bigger size would be a problem but no worries works a treat.

They do more than wheel nuts. These are also a godsend for changing oils as they have a 1/2" drive which fits standard Nissan drain/fill plugs. What a difference when grovelling under the vehicle! You've got a 12V rattle gun wherever you go. Worth the dough for that alone.

I also have the one from Marks 4wd adaptors @$99 it was on special a while ago for $79 but I just missed out on that price. It seems to be a beauty, mines done bugger all work since i've had it, a couple of nuts here and there just to show the mates, I tow a trailor around for work and do plenty of tip runs and get plenty of punctures, well used to! Since i've had the u beaut 12 volter I havn't had a puncture (Murphys law).

As someone has mentioned they work a little differently than the 240 volt jobs or the air ones, they dont "rattle" the nut off like they do, they just spin away internally and build up some sort of tension then "Bang" seems to take about 3 - 4" bangs" before the nut whistles off. A great investment for $100 I reckon

Brought my electric rattle gun from repco has worked perfect so far ... used today to do front brake pads .. they are more like a big impact driver than a rattle gun
