MaskedRider

Hello to everyone in this site;

I am palnning to buy a 4wd used "SUV". Pleased help me select which is best among NISSAN SAFARI PATROL, TOYOTA LANDCRUISER PRADO, ISUZU TROOPER BIGHORN AND MITSUBISHI PAJERO EXCEED.

In terms of overall performance, availability of parts, durability, maintenance etc.

Thanks to all your suggestions!

There is no "best". It depends on what you will use the vehicle for. How many people, how much gear carried, towing or not, where do you want it to go etc. Horses for courses. More data input needed.

Would like to ask if there are any problems with using F250 4X4 outback?

Macks we have had our F250 over the Tanami, the GRR, the Gulf, side tracks all over the country and no problems except for one.
We find that you need low range to climb over the Disco's.

LOL, I like it Bob, hey I always look in detail at these Monster Trucks when sitting next to them at the lights, I'm interested to know what your "ramp over" angle is like on them , they look like they'd bottom out big time because they are so long?

A bit of thread hijacking.
The WOW! Factor.
I imported a Superchips tuner for the F250 after hearing glowing reports claiming better fuel economy as well as improved performance.
This tuner module also shows the Ford fault codes should you experience a problem.
This device would have saved me a lot of angst when my F250 started to misfire from time to time.
The service agents in Broome, Kununurra, and Katherine were unable to locate the fault as they had no instrument to read the fault codes.
After limping in to Darwin it was found that the cam timing sensor was faulty, a 10 minute repair. (After the part arrived)
Had I been able to give Ford the diagnostic fault code then they could have sent the part to Broome.
For remote area travelers one of these instruments isn’t a bad investment.

Performance.
Standard 7.3 diesel 175kw, 684nm.

There are three enhancements available through the Superchips tuner.
Tow mode, may tow max permitted load. 227kw, 884nm.
Low Tow Mode, max 2,700kg tow, 242kw, 921nm.
Hi Performance Mode, no towing, 257nm, 955nm.

Take 5 minutes to re-program the effie.
Went for a drive with tune set to max this morning.
Thought I was back in my speedcar days.
Power increase was staggering and the tranny shift points changed accordingly.
Quicker sharper gear changes.

Now to have some fun with the Cruisers, Patrols and especially the "Rangie Brigade"
