gq2.8td, I also get those figures, so long as you don't drive 110 -120 k.p.h, then it goes it bit quicker. I've also thoght about I/C but found the cost a bit much, i'd like to know how cheap it could be done. The 2 1/2" exhaust goes well...

Andrew, I have the same motor and am interested in the 2 1/2 or 3 inch exhaust. What difference did it make, what mufflers do you have, how much?? I get about the same consumption in mine, about 23-25 mpg around town but drops on sustained highway driving (With ARB rack and normally loaded) Ta Steve

I have a 3ltr intercooled turbo diesel and use 9.3 ltrs / 100 klms at 112 klms/hr. its a toyota surf 96 ssrg.
I know this is not the same car, but gives you an idea of how other cars compare. hope this helps.

I had one of these a couple of years ago.

I fitted a 2.5in sports exhaust and an Airtec snorkel.

Economy was up a tad and I found that the turbo also came in a little earlier around the 1600RPM mark instead of the standard 2000RPM rush.

Would average around 10.5lts per hundred around town but on the highway got as high as 15lt per hundred over the 110km mark (120-140).

Sold it before I got the chance to test the exhaust and snorkel on the highway but I know it would have been a great deal more economical if I had of stuck around the 100km mark.

Cheers
