Hi Greg,

If you are talking about the Red Desert Drawers unit,
then you would have noticed the extra holes near the top of the uprights.

I was curious enough and moved some of the bearings from the lower holes to the top holes.

And found that it left a gap of 20mm.

I have since made a track of 20mm shs and two bits of angle as well as 12 bearings, bolts and nuts and 48 washers.

Total cost $20 for the 12 bolts 12 Nylok and 48 washers
$ 35 for the 12x6200 bearings

Already had the angle and 20x20mm blue steel
And several beers of choice....

I now have a fridge slide just as strong as the drawers and still full use
of both drawers.

When it has no fridge in the vehicle, it still looks exactly the same as any
other, and no fridge slide on top for the dog to trip over.

Cheers,

Stefan

Pretty cool eh! I thought bearings came pre-lubricated! I did not realise that you had to lubricate them with that stuff in the bottle. Interesting concept having to keep the lubrication cool.

Had a look at your work - very good!
Looks like a 60 Litre Engel - can you open the lid fully or not?
