scott

i was under the cruiser today to fix a small oil leak and noticed the bottom radiator hose was 1/2 flattened .i squeazed the hose it felt like there was no water in it. i took of the radiator cap (car was cool) and watched the hose expand to normal size . the radiator is about 18 months old, car doesnt run any hotter than normal.
any clues ? air lock? blockage ? thanks

You may need a new hose, it appears to be collapsing due to the vacuum when the radiator cools.
alternatively you may have a blockage in the cap and overflow system preventing coolant returning to the radiator from the overflow tank as the system cools.

Agree. Put a new cap on it as the recovery system doesn't appear to be working.
