Merrit Electra Ironman Hercules 4WD Tyres

Submitted: Monday, Jul 04, 2005 at 20:36

Leg End

These tyres are available in Queensland and are supposed to be manufactured by Goodyear in China. I believe they are known as Merrit Electra Ironman Tyres in QLD but may be marketed under the brandname of Hercules Electra in NSW.

Does anyone know a supplier in Sydney or Central Coast??

Hasn't BFG changed their place of manufature recently, resulting in a large sale of tyres for Cooper due the the new found quality of the BFGs?

G'Day,

If these are the tyres you mean

I have had a set on for around 40,000k's and expect to get aorund 70,000 out of a set. Lots of people around here have them fitted with no problems. The local dealer says he hasn't had one returned yet

They are a "budget" tyre so don't expect road holding and braking like a BFG or Cooper, but at $100 less per tyre I just take it a bit easier. They come in 6, 8 and 10 ply. Be careful when comparing prices

On the website link there is a number for Chapel Corner Tyres.

They can tell you who may be able to source a set in your area.

My local Tyrepower dealer had them in stock
