HI guys - planning a trip in here soon - leaving from Nowra and going in via Burrier road ( and old burrier road fire trail ) we all have 4x4 with the exception of 2 friends that want to come along but own hyundai and ford ( ordinary sedans- but wont hold that against them )

are they able to get there vehicles to the camp site near / at Historic Yalwal cemetry? are trail bikes also allowed in this area ( dont have one myself - but somoene has asked me if people ride there )

I baught the book from craig lewis and Cathy savage '4WD Trecks close to sydney ' so will follow there instructions to this camp site - so if anyone knows the spot i am talking about - can you please let me know

thanks

Frank

P.s also what tire pressure is recomended for the area -- 25 - 30 PSI ?

Hi there Frank,
Great spot out at Yalwal, take extreme caution along Danjera Dam rd,as there was a recent fatality due to a couple of motorcross riders trying to break the sound barrier out along that road. The campsite is good but you may need to collect some firewood from the forest nearby as most of it was used up when out there 3 weeks ago.The road in was fine, great spot for some canoeing if you have one.
We live out at Jervis Bay so it's only a stone throw for us to get out there.Cheers and enjoy your trip.

I was in at Yalwal and Danjera campsites last Sunday. The last 14.7kms is gravel with some rough and steep section but all are negotiatable by 2WD cars with caution. Not a sole in there not even the usual dirt bike crowd. Facilities (ie toilets) were clean and in good condition.
A word of caution though - make sure you have good steel tent pegs as the ground is extremely hard with a lot of sub-surface rocks.

Cheers
Pete
