Kev. I have the same car and the same problem and Toyota will tell you they've never heard of the problem yet there is a replacement part!!! I posted this same question back on the 21st of June and was supplied with the part #of a modified catch. My question is still there and if you can access the responses then you will find the part #. I have tried everything. I've adjusted the doors, used WD40, soap, candle wax, Mr Sheen, CRC Dry Glide and even lined the door rubber with masking tape. I've tried all these products on either the catches or the rubber itself. The best fix I've found (it's not 100% but close to it) is to thoroughly clean the U shaped 'staples' (on the car not the door) and wrap them in 1 or 2 revolutions of electrical tape. This should last a couple of months and works for me. While you're there, does your car have a very audible wind turbulence noise coming from the driver's A pillar near the RV mirror? This is my latest challenge to solve. Apparrantly it also is quite common, but again, Toyota deny any knowledge of it. Good luck.

Derek, Thanks for your reply. I've tried everythink short off welding the door shut. But will try to locate modified catch. As for your new problem it could be the screw recess in the mirror. You can fill the recess on top of the screw with silicon. If this doesn't cure the noise I'm not sure what it would be. I just turn my stereo up louder...
thanks Kev

Derek, Thanks follow up above. The tail gate has a small crack in it near the centre, and I think this is affecting its rigidity. My mig welding skills aren't up to that small a repair. Also has some hairline cracks around the centre lock, so maybe its a visit to local panel
shop for a new skin/tailgate. Our roads aren't vehicle friendly either. The silicone spray on rubber seals does make a big difference to squeaking, until the dust builds up again. Regards....
