4Runner Problems?

Submitted: Monday, Dec 09, 2002 at 00:00

Pegasus

Hi, I am new here, not new to four wheel driving. I have just brought an 85 model 4runner, 2.4Lt diesel 5 speed, Independent front end.

I was wondering if any one here is aware of any known ongoing problems with these cars?

Thanks all,

Stewart

The only problem i had with my forerunner was the fact that it fell onto it's roof going up a hill. other than that it was a great little buggy.

i have a 2.4TD Surf, which is for all intents and purposes the same car but with a turbo on the motor and extra features inside like electric windows. I have found it to be a great car and I reckon they can actually go a lot further off road than most people give them credit for. Like most standard 4WD's they do benefit from a small lift (about $1,000 for a 1.5 to 2 inch lift and new springs/shocks/IFS adjustment.
