Hi Bill,

The email address is r.kearney(at)cqu.edu.au

Was hoping you could send me some picture of the overall set up and some close ups of different sections like the mounting points, strut connections, lock/handle set up etc, etc. The more the better as it will stop me from reinventing the wheel. Plus any other help you can give like were to get the air vents from etc.

Thanks heaps.

You've probably seen post 20716. if this helps.
I'm going for the same thing using 3 screen doors with the expanded mesh and possibly a solid roof draped with canvas.

Not started building YET ;) still gathering ideas and bits. I've got a selection of alloy or steel pipe, canvas, 3 second hand expanded mesh doors. Side doors will be close for size but will have to resize one for the back. It's on a wishlist with dual batteries NEXT, reinstall compressor(moved for D Bat'), raising tray height 50mm (for better fuel flow in), install pump for water tank, and on and on..........slide out kitchen........and on........install cruuuuise control...........Bills unit looks the goods, with a little of John (Vic) and .................drifta style of kitchen.........and ?? So Many possibilities.

I'll tag your addie from this thread and keep in touch if thats ok?

Know what you mean. Have Just finished one project, sold it and now starting another. Need a kick in the a.. for not thinking about it properly. Aaah well live and learn. One thing I'd suggest is be very, very carefull of the weight, it's very easy to get to the overloaded point. My GU ute with fuel, 80l of water, two spare wheels and two people is close to 3t so leaves only 400kg.

I'll let you know what I do and please do the same.

Are you saying that the ordinary home security screen door will suit?? If so I'll have to have a look around.

Yep, HS Door. For mine it suits my tray size just right, H X L. (Lux xcab). I'll prob' build canopy to suit door size. Steel is so easy to work with but alloy is the better for weight. I have a very strong and heavy steel tray (with dropsides which I don't want to use). Roof setup will be fairly solid to carry extras

Will need to hook up with canvas man to assess location of zippers in relation to doors opening/closing allowing for weather proofing etc and on and on......:)

Whats ya rig?
