Drive by wire on current model TD42 Patrol?

Submitted: Monday, Oct 03, 2005 at 18:40

Catfish

G'day all,

Just a quick question about the current model intercooled 4.2 TD Patrol - Does this model use a standard throttle cable to the fuel pump or does it use the drive by wire like on the 3.0l Patrol.

Also does this model still have a hand throttle?

Thanks in advance.

Chris.

I remember reading somewhere early this year that the Patrol still has a hand throttle.

Ahh .. so that IS a hand throttle. I tried using it while moving up a steep, loose track but found it incredibly awkward to reach and adjust in rough conditions. After that experience I assumed it must have just been for using as a choke.
